The Discovery Family Connection

The Discovery Family Connection The Discovery Family Connection (DFC) is Discovery Lab School’s Parent-Teacher Organization. The DFC’s mission is to promote the active involvement of families in the education of their children in school and at home, as well as to address parent concerns, to encourage parent / teacher / student communication, and to provide resources for the betterment of our school.

The DFC sponsors a variety of activities and events throughout the year in collaboration with the Discovery Lab School (DLS) staff, students, Site Council, community partners and ASB. These include the cookie dough fundraiser, family dances, field trips, various enrichment activities, Book Fairs, the Science Fair, the annual Shakespeare production, the Honors Tea, Read Around the World, school beautification projects and much more.

The Discovery Family Connection generally holds its meetings on the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in Classroom #7 (Mrs. Smith’s classroom) at Discovery Lab School. All DLS family members and supporters are welcome to attend the DFC meetings. The dates for this year’s meetings are listed below.
