Bowling 2007

This will be my seventh year working here at the Discovery Lab School. If you don’t know I started out in the staff lounge with one bag of equipment and slowly moved myself and my growing amount of PE equipment into the music room. Then in December of 2006 I got to move into my own portable. I’m excited to have a space of my own where the students can go in good and bad weather. I was very creative with my lessons last year and got bowling lanes from Nob Hill Lanes for the students to try-out for two weeks. The students got to experience a new sport and really enjoyed it. I hope to bring back bowling next year.

Presidential Fitness is a big part of the Discovery Lab Physical Education program. This year Presidential Fitness was held on May 2, 2008. All students at DLS participated in events that include a mile run, curl-ups, chin-hang/pull-ups or push-ups, sit & reach, and the shuttle run. Any student could qualify for a prize by meeting the presidential or national standards for the challenge.

In my personal life my husband Ryan is a Math Teacher at West Valley High School and together we have two beautiful 2½ year old twin girls named Tessa and Lily. We also have a very caring dog named Jake. My family really loves trips to the beach and water skiing in the summer.
