Washington College-Bound Scholarship Program

Two years ago, the 2007 Legislature passed, and the Governor endorsed, the Washington College Bound Scholarship Program.

The College Bound Scholarship Program promises free tuition and $500/year for books to all students who qualify for free-or-reduced-priced lunch (foster youth are automatically eligible). The program is managed by the Higher Education Coordinating Board (HECB).

To qualify for this incredible opportunity, students and parents must complete a “Pledge and Application.” This year seventh, eighth, and ninth graders may apply. Next year, only seventh and eighth graders will be able to apply. This year's sixth grade students may apply at the end of the 2008-2009 school year.
