“SO YOU THINK YOU CAN WRITE?” . . .

Beginning Thursday, October 29, a series of presentations in the Davis High School library entitled So You Think You Can Write? will spotlight five local published authors. The authors, who either write young adult fiction or are moving into that field, will lead large and small group presentations for five consecutive weeks from 1 to 3:15 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

October 29 - Marilee Brothers, a former Davis teacher and author of Moonstone and Moon Rise, the first two books in the Unbidden Magic Series, will do the "kick off" presentation.

October 30 - S.J. (Susan) Robinson, "a former nurse, Seattle attorney, and an unabashed romantic," will explain how medical and legal professionals, at times, are caught up in corporate machinery beyond their control in her book The Price of Death.

November 6 - Doug Johnson, Davis teacher, prolific author, composer and artist, will discuss his latest collection of fiction Frank's Diary.

November 13 - Kent Lundgren, former U.S. Immigration and Border Patrol officer, will talk about Hope and Honor, his young adult book set primarily in Juarez, Mexico.

November 20 - Donna Scofield, Yakima Herald contributing writer as well as author of many magazine articles, will speak about her historical fiction.
