Dear parents or guardians,
It has come to our attention that many students are being dropped off or are arriving at school as early as 7:30. We do not provide supervision of students until 8:00. Leaving your child outside of the school unattended is extremely unsafe. Please do not drop students off or have them walk to school before 8:00 in the morning. For working parents and parents that may need child care we do offer child care before and after school through the YMCA BASE program. Thank you for your understanding as safety is our top priority.
Parents and Guardians, do you have concerns about your child's behavior at school? Do you think that he/she might benefit from some behavior interventions at school? Contact your child's teacher and share these concerns with them. You can request that your concerns be reviewed by our Building Student Education team.
Classes begin at 8:45 a.m. with breakfast at 8:15. Classes end at 3:15 on Tuesdays through Fridays, and 2:15 on Mondays. Please drop your student(s) off no earlier than 8:15 a.m. as there is no supervision.
Our parking lot is often very crowded. Remember the area in front of the building is for pick-up and drop-off only.
Please do not pick your child up early from school if at all possible. Our teachers need the entire instructional day to ensure your child receives a quality education. If your child needs to be checked out early it will need to be pre-arranged through the office by 2:00/12:00 Mondays, due to end of the day transitions and traffic in the office. Thank you!

Please take 5mins to fill out this brief survey. Your input is very important in this process and will help determine the key areas of focus when reviewing math programs.
If you are interested in participating in the math curriculum review process starting Jan 15th and ending in early April, please contact:

The Yakima School District recognizes and respects the uniqueness of each student, staff member and citizen within the community. Teaming together, the school community creates a learning environment that fosters fair treatment and access to educational resources and programs for all students. The American democratic system depends on equal access to the opportunities for and benefits of public education for all young people: our future leaders, voters, taxpayers, workers, parents and adult citizens (Click the Equity in Education title above for our full policy).
The High School and Beyond Plan process is a graduation requirement that supports students in exploring their interests, planning high school coursework that is aligned to those interests, keeping track of major assessment scores, and logging work and other relevant experience. The Plan is designed to enable students to successfully pursue education or training after they graduate high school. https://readywa.org/beyond/en/
