PTSA meetings are held on the first Wednesday of the month at 6:00 PM in the office meeting room.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday, March 1st .
Thanks to all of our new members for joining us!
We are pleased to be able to have a two day book fair again during conferences in March. Last year the Wilson community was able to help provide over $3,500 towards new books for all students to read for our library.
Our next fair will be during spring conferences Wed., March 29th from noon to 5 PM and Thurs., March 30th from 4 to 8 PM.
We need parents who are willing to help out for at least an hour on either day; before or after your conference is a good time to help out. Please contact Mrs. Madrinich in the library 573-2407/2422 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you want to help out. Profits from the fair benefit all students at Wilson with new books and other things like comfortable reading chairs for the library.
You can view our fair online and shop from home too at:
Have you renewed your eScrip for Wilson Middle School yet this year? In order for Wilson to receive up to 10% of your Safeway purchases, you must renew on their website annually by Nov. 1st. You will find the "Sign up" page here: https://secure.escrip.com/supporter/registration/index.jsp
Some schools are earning tens of thousands of dollars annually through their eScrip donations. Imagine what Wilson PTSA could be doing for our students, staff and community with that kind of support. If you haven't signed up yet, it only takes a few minutes. Renewing is even quicker.
Some things PTSA is doing for Wilson are: staff and student appreciation, supporting student entries in extended learning opportunities such as TSA, Science Olympiad, and the Reflections Arts Program, and Scholastic Book Fairs.
The 2016-17 National PTA Arts Reflections Program theme:
"What is My Story?"
It's up to students to decide how they can express their artisitic interpretation of this theme using any of the 6 arts categories: literature, visual arts, photography, video, music or dance choreography. Students receiving the top prize of Outstanding Interpretation in their grade level will go on to the state and possibly national level competitions. Be sure to pick up forms and rules to have your entry ready for the judges! It's never too early to start thinking about and creating art for this years competition! Rules can also be found at the National PTA website: http://www.pta.org/programs/content.cfm?ItemNumber=3804&navItemNumber=3805
Winners this year from Wilson earned a gift card for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in their events, and ALL Wilson students who entered placed in their categories this year!
