This year we are performing William Shakespeare's As You Like It, a comedy believed to have been written in 1599. The story follows Rosalind as she leaves her uncle’s stolen kingdom accompanied by her cousin Celia to find safety and eventually, love, in the Forest of Arden. There they encounter a variety of memorable characters. One of Shakespeare’s most famous speeches comes from this play, "All the world’s a stage…."
Mrs. Irene Smith is our director, and we will also have assistant directors who are DLS alumni attending high school, plus the talented Jenessa Markland (Melody Lane and Saint Joseph). Try-outs for our DLS middle school students will be held on Dec. 13, 14, and 15, 2016. Rehearsals begin in January and are typically Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. We hope to perform at Davis High School on May 18 and 19, Discovery on May 24 and at West Valley Junior High School on May 26.
