A Leader in Me

Everyone A Leader At Robertson Elementary

You may have heard the great news. Your child may have already come home talking about learning the seven habits of highly successful people. This is all a part of Robertson’s new process to become A Leader in Me School.

There are basically six things you’ll notice changing as we grow as a school in this process that:

  • A common language about leadership and success traits
  • Leadership roles being assumed by students
  • Leadership progress becoming a part of our student data notebooks
  • A leadership environment
  • Student-Led Conferences
  • Leadership Events

As each child discovers and develops his or her unique gifts and talents, they will be given opportunities to lead. As leaders, they become active, engaged partners in their own education and their self-confidence, responsibility, and initiative grows. The children quickly understand the benefits of different gifts and talents; they learn to listen to new ideas, work together to achieve results, and motivate one another to be the best. Students will better own responsibility for their learning, their choices and their success.

Over the course of the year further information will be coming, including opportunities for you to attend parent leadership nights and integrate the seven habits into your home. Please actively join us in the exciting adventure.

You can also support this effort by completing an initial survey about The Leader In Me. This is a beginning data point that will be used to help us measure how well we are growing with our leadership effort. The link to complete the survey is given below. The deadline to complete is December 1st. Thank you in advance for taking a moment to do so.
