Yakima Public Schools See Growth in Graduation Rates
The Yakima School District is seeing growth in graduation rates.
In 2018, 79.5% of Yakima School District students graduated in four years. This is up from 72.5% in 2017, 73.5% in 2016, 65.3% in 2015 and 63.2% in 2014. This is a 16.3% increase in four years.
The average graduation rate in Washington State in 2018 was 80.9%.
Further, Davis High School and Eisenhower High School saw rates far above the state average of 80.9% in 2018 with 88.7% and 84.8% respectively.
The Yakima School District continues our commitment to increasing graduation rates and student success with the following:
- Increased access to HS Credit requirements beyond the traditional core offerings:
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offerings International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) Offerings College in the High School
- Initiating credit recovery options for students who may have failed one or more courses
- Dedicated staff that works tirelessly to ensure student success:
- Teachers, counselors, administrators and all support staff working towards the same goal: Graduation
- Early interventions that are resulting in significant increases in student success in academics
