Project 400 is program sponsored by The Salvation Army, allowing students who may be suffering a financial hardship to go shopping and buy gifts for themselves, including clothes, shoes, and toys. Each year, the Salvation Army pays for 12 students to go shopping at Walmart, giving each student $75 to spend on items of their choice. This year, Gilbert staff donated money, as did the John I Haas Company. We were able to send 40 kids shopping last Saturday! Teachers, counselors and paras joined in the shopping fun, escorting students as they looked for things to buy.
